    The sixth sense

Lately, for who knows what reason, design is trying its hand at being funny, brilliant and cute (like finding a lost puppy). Which is fine, even good, unless the result is comparable to what our friend Lassie evokes in us.
Like a perfect project, the joke should be simple and immediate. Something clear and comprehensible to everyone that makes you exclaim: "Genius!". Genius like Woody Allen, not like Ben Stiller. Humor is something exceptional and if delivered well it puts a smile on your face even while you are alone in the bathroom washing your hands. And it is for this very reason that it is important that the dosage of humor in a project is correct. But if you don't have a sense of humor, and your jokes provoke a series of forced smiles with a hint of embarrassment, just give it up.

P.s. Excusatio non petita, accusatio manifesta, but I am not referring to anyone in particular. Alot more could be said about these vignettes from "The New Yorker", but for now I am only interested in being amused.
